About Three Bean Net Cafe

Three Bean Net Café is Gourmet Coffee and Internet shop. We differ from existing coffee shops in that we offer on-site computers, printers and free Wi-Fi. In addition to browsing the Internet, we offer a variety of computer programs for customer use (e.g., Microsoft® Office). Three Bean Net Café provides access to online gaming using a service provided by Valve software that allows our customers to play games such as Counterstrike® and Half-life®. These services attract a diverse group of users ranging from students working on homework assignments, business people working on reports, gamers, and people who enjoy playing on the Internet in a social environment.

In addition to computer services, Three Bean Net Café has the finest coffees and coffee drinks available anywhere. Months were spent tasting hundreds coffees and making visits to roasters prior to opening. We continually search for coffees that are appealing to the palate without relying on what we call “over roast.” (that burned taste sold in some National chains). Three Bean Net Café also offers many other specialty drinks, including ice-blended frappes, smoothies, teas hot and cold, and freshly made hot chocolate, etc. We also have lunch sandwiches, pastries, and deserts. Our sandwiches are served on bread from the local Rising High bakery, and most of our pastries and deserts are “home made” locally. We are constantly trying new food items and it is our intent to add selections to our menu as we progress.

The other aspect of our business that is unique is the owners. There are three owners of the Three Bean Net Café. The president of the Company is Russell Smith. Russell’s business background originates from 20 years of owning and operating Swansea Milling Inc., a manufacturer and retailer of livestock feeds sold throughout South Carolina. Scott Clarke, a second owner, is a engineer at a local television station. Scott has a colorful background that includes 7 years living on a sailboat in the Caribbean. Chris Kozma is the third owner and is a register pharmacist with a Ph.D. in Pharmacy. Chris is an ex-USC faculty member (9 years) who now does consulting work for pharmaceutical companies out of his home.

It seems reasonable that someone might ask how the three of us with full-time jobs in unrelated areas came to own a coffee shop. Our common link is sailing. We all have boated together for several years. A typical get-together would include cooking or grilling out in the evening and breakfasts on our boats in the mornings. Our collective business knowledge combined with our love of gourmet foods and cooking led us to the obvious outcome-Three Bean Net Café. It seemed like a natural business for us to enter as the Gourmet coffee business has lots of potential for growth, especially in the Southeast. Our first location is in Lexington, South Carolina, with successive stores to be opened soon. We are building Three Bean Net Café into a community hub for the Lexington-Columbia area and elsewhere. Our eventual plans include shops in the Caribbean. After all, we are still sailors.

Finally, we are trying to go the extra mile with customer service. The goal is to have a family atmosphere; board and card games are available. Our staff prides themselves in their drink making and is always up to a challenge for developing new drinks or preparing drinks specifically to the desires of the customer. So stop by and see us at Three Bean Net Café and try out our “Good Drink Guarantee”.
